Postby Lilly » Sun Oct 21, 2012 8:35 pm

Hi all,
The first pic was my 20g....just a bit stuffed  SO...

I decided on the 45g so I could have a little more room to play :!: I just finished with the weekly water change so the tree coral is not out...

and my son doesn't have all day to take pics :P

What do you think? yes...there is some algea...but the snails need to eat

Thank you...

The pictures are not the best, where is the brown diatom you are asking about? What part of the tank? The back of the tank has algea ? The Turbo snails eat this so I leave the back alone for the most part. :)

Hi Buehler,

I would be happy to :D

I am using a Marineland C220 for the filter. For maintenece I will open it up once a month and rinse the sponges in tank water and replace the polishing filter with a new one. I am using the bio media that came with the filter and Chem Pure Elite instead of carbon, which I replace with new every two months.
I have a Deltec 300 HOB skimmer. The maintenence beyond emptying the cup is a monthly complete clean.

Thats it!

I do weekly water changes 10% and add fresh water as evaporation dictates. I also use Kent Nano part A and B per label, with every water change.

I feed a frozen mix of Sprulina shrimp, Rotifers and Mega Marine Algea; 2ml dropper 3 times daily. I supplement with NLS marine pellets once a day.

Thank you for your interest and compliment. :D

Sounds like you got this tanks maintaince down to a science :D
What sort of lights and lighting schedule do you keep? Also, what is the stock list on it?

I have a single Coralife Halide for lighting that is on 10 hours daily. I needed this for the dersa clam...it was losing color and really needed a better light.

As far as the stock goes I will do my best here to remember everything :)

30 - 40 lbs of live rock in a 4 inch sand bed.

Cleaning crew: 6 turbo snails,4 astera snails, 4 snails that live in the sand bed,I don't remember what they are called  , 4 blue leg hermit crabs and one sand sifting star fish.

Fish: 1 Bi colered angel, 2 false perculas, 1 polka dot blennie, 2 orange anthias, 2 yellow gobys and 2 green gobys, one six line wrasse.
One cleaner shrimp....this is by far my favorite occupant...luv thus little guy

Corals: green and orange zoas, green star polps,3 different australian acans, florida ricordia and green striped mushrooms...lots of them :) 1 duncan , one yuma ricordia, 1 chocolate brown tree coral, sky blue clove polyps,1 white fan??

I think that is it ... for now anyway
