I went with acrylic. I went to menards and at the time, they didn't have staff that knew how to cut glass.

A few things here and there is definitely more fun, but I find that I am prone to spending more money that way, and also more prone to straying from the plan, lol. We'll see.

I'm going to swing by the pet store and grab an ammonia and nitrite test (forgot the reef master kit doesn't come with those), and see where we are sitting. I'm not expecting too much, but I am curious to see where we are being that I put that live rock in the tank.

You are able to drill glass with success, cutting and sanding even polishing edges should be a piece of cakes for you. :P

A cutter and replacable blades is dirt cheap and glass could be cheap or even free if you look for cheap or leaking tanks near by online.
We need to stop talking about the people as if they were the crown of creation.

True, but even if I buy a cheap glass cutter and use it once, it's still a waste of money IMO. I have enough tools and gadgets laying around my house that I actually intend to use but still end up neglecting. I don't need more of that debris laying around taking up space.

I haven't picked up a test kit yet, but I did use the Nitrate test last night and?!.... nothing. No nitrates yet, lol.

Boom. Game on. We have nitrates. 5-10ppm but they are there. I need to grab an ammonia test and nitrite and see where those levels are and then- fish!

Ok so I was jumping the gun a bit. I bought ammonia and nitrite tests yesterday and Ammonia is at about .5ppm, and nitrite is about 1ppm. So we still have a week or so left I'd say. While I am slightly disappointed, the pet store was all but depleted yesterday anyway. I'll have to check back once ammonia and nitrite levels are gone.

Stay tuned.

Sorry to leave you hanging there, I was out of town for about a week. I tested ammonia nitrate and nitrite today and all levels are good. I plan to swing into the pet store today to see what they have in stock.

Well guys I broke down and got a few clowns from the LFS. They were around 2.5 inches and really looked healthy so I couldn't pass them up. I also grabbed a single banggai cardinal and a bicolor blenny. They have been in the tank since Monday and have all been doing pretty well. I have seen both of the clowns eat, but the banggai is a bit shy and I see him respond when food gets into the water but I haven't seen him eat yet. The blenny is pretty shy. He pretty much stays in the rockwork out of sight for the most part. Hoping he comes out a bit more since he's pretty cool looking. Still on the look out for a royal gramma and maybe a clown goby. Pics soon.
