What would you guys consider the best controllable, submersible, slightly small sump pump?

I've been using an Eheim 1260 for over a year for water changes. I'd buy it again.

Do you look for an electrical adjustment, crazy lifting powers, good Watt per Gallon/Liter ratio?

A pump like beretta use is good enough for water changes but far away from a modern wattage to water movement.
Do you need a pump that will move filtered water that is sitting in a clear water chamber or something that vacs and blends particles and never gets clogged?

IF you look for the first one a modern DC pump is the way. Of course they are 2 to 4 times as expensive but the 2 to 3 times lower wattage will work that out over time especially if you want to save electricity or that it's expensive like in europe for example.

If you look for the second option a danner, Eheim or other heathy pond powerhead pump is the way. This kind of pump will most likley outlife you and will work the next couple of decades but for this you can't adjust the flow or only do it manual they are bulky often loud and they have a high use of electricity for comparable to DC Pumps not that mich flow.

I love the quiet one series. Used one for a few years with my last sump, and running one again on my current sump. Quiet, cost effective, reliable.
