What a beautiful fish!
Toruk is getting redder and redder, and bigger and bigger!
Definitely the biggest fish in the sea of your aquarium. And almost a whole foot long. Maybe you'll be one of the people who end up having to get a giant tank for a 14 inch Oscar-Toruk keeps getting bigger and bigger! Have you thought about replacing your old catfish, hopefully with a less swallowable version? ;)
20 gal 2 Angels, 3 Panda Corys, 2 Ghost Catfish
10 gal 5 Zebra Danios, 3 black neon tetras
10 gal 6 serpae, 2 otos
5 gal 1 betta

Just a small update. So far Toruk is ok, growing, getting bigger, he/she is almost 9 inches. The bad news is that my albino pleco (it was around 6 inches) was eaten. I didn't expect at all that would be happened. The conclusion- be sure that if your pleco shares the same tank with your Oscar that it (the pleco) is big enough to be safe and happy. [from page 8 of this thread]
The Pleco that lived with your O for a while, before getting munched on here. I guess that experience probably isnt the best encouragement to keep a catfish :P

Oh, that's right, it was while ago :( Anyway, that was an experience for me. Well although Toruk is the only fish in the tank he/she still demonstrates dominant, territorial, aggressive behavior. Sometimes I put a mirror in front of him/her and wow just come and see what means show off :evil3:
Guys, I would like to ask you a question- in couple of months Toruk will be 2 years old, strong, healthy, very active fish living in optimum conditions, feeding ones of day (morning) only with pellets of the best brands, no heath issues...... but sometimes he/she simply refuses to eat- ones or twice per week. I think that it could be because there is no competition in the tank or simply the mature fish don't need too many feedings. What is your opinion?

Looking good. Does he leave those plants alone in the back? My old boys would both shred fake plants like they were real. I would frequently have to pick out shreds of plastic from my filter intakes.

Sorry for the late answer! He is a small destroyer, in the next morning the plastic plants were on the surface of the tank lol.
