My oscar has many different pellets available to eat - I alternate to give him a variety but lately he turns his nose up at the pellets but will dive for these.....

Are these okay to feed. I was using these strictly as a treat but he will wait for them to be dropped in completely ignoring any pellets. Such a stinker.

Just wanted to see if these were okay as a meal. Should I hold out and make him eat his pellets?

I gave it a 1 star rating.

www.oscarfish.com/1-star-foods/272-tetra...dients-analysis.html
Oscarfish.Com Rating: 1 Star

The existence of Ethoxyquin, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite, and (assumed) artificial colors, in addition to the low preferred protein contents of the food, limited preferred plant protein content, as well as the questionable quality of the meals in use, prevents a rating any higher.

I know, those things are like fish crack. Fish love them. I use them to convert wild caught fish over to prepared foods as well as get sick fish to eat. But I then get them off of them as soon as I can, moved over to a quality pellet. It's certainly not something I feed by choice as they are about as bad a quality of food as is offered on the market. The only good thing I can say is that at least they do not contain poultry by product or meat meal.

They do a decent job of letting you know you are behind on tank maintenance. They'll turn your water orange.

I only gave them as a treat but quickly found out that this is now all he wants. He is such a stinker. When i drop food in he will look to see what it is and will only goafter the treats

Do i need to give him some tough love and only offer his pellets?? I think i will get rid of these sticks right now. No more for him.

I keep some on hand most of the time just for fussy eaters. My fish love them too.

Another good alternative is Hikari Carnivore sticks. Slightly better ingredients list, and my oscars and all cichlids really loved them.
