My wife is wanting one of these... -.- and I can't change her mind lol. I'm well aware how big they get and how much room they need etc. My question is has anyone ever introduced a brand new half sized to full sized Bala into their tank with a Full Sized Oscars and Full Sized Blood Parrots? How do they get along? I've also heard this is a schooling fish as well.... Any information will be appreciated! Thank you.

If the Oscars aren't aggressive towards the parrots then they will probably do fine. BUT, remember that blood parrots can be shy as a cichlid. Therefore a playful bala shark might cause some problems.

It really depends on the aquarium size and the fishes personalities. A small tank will probably cause aggression...

With you're current setup I would recommend a 5ft+ aquarium (over 150 gallons) because the balas alone can reach over 1ft.

Well I have a 125G , (it says 120 on there typo) and that's been awhile ago haven't updated, its only got 1 Oscar now. My old buddy passed away a few months ago :( couldn't figure out why, all I could think of was old age cause he was old when we got him at the local pet shop, owners didn't want him no more, and we got the parrots with him as well (They grew up together as babies that's why they get along so well), but he passed sadly which all the other fish were fine during this time and the other are still fine and healthy today =D! so atm it has 1 Oscar and 2 parrots atm.

I think that's a good decision. Your 120g is a bit overstocked with two Oscars and two blood parrots. Adding another fish would be adding fuel to the fire with respect to managing contaminates and probably even worse from a territorial perspective.

Adult balas need at least 8 to 10 feet wide tanks. It's not just there size it's about they are heavy moving river fish that regulary don't stay long on the same place.

Basicly they it's like trout. They need alit of space and water for a fish there size.

Also blood parrots are anything but shy. The have A. Citrunellum in them. A fish that is not been known to be friendly or passive
We need to stop talking about the people as if they were the crown of creation.

I gotcha, and yeah my parrots are probably more aggressive than my Oscar tbh, I've seen both of them in the past run my Oscar off across the tank numerous times when he got in their "bubble" xD , they will hold their ground that's for sure lol.
