I don't know what you feed.... With your quantity and variety of fish it's probably several things.

When I get bored I tend to find something to do to occupy my skull contents. Last night it was researching the various commercial foods to determine the best fit for fish with the coloration of these.... With their feeding behavior taken into account.

What I wound up with was a combination of Spiralina 20 Sticks and Xtreme Aquatics pellets. That combination should really enhance the coloration of these Severums.

I know you don't need the help. Just happened to be one of the things I landed on to occupy my skull at 1am.

Looking good Bassetman. I really like the spotting and yellow coloration of the gill plates.

Herring Meal, Potato Starch, Squid Meal, Kelp Meal, Spirulina, Garlic, Chlorella Algae, Yeast, Yeast Extract, Paprika Oleoresin, DL Methionine, Brewers Dried Yeast, Lecithin, Astaxanthin, Beta Carotene, Canthaxanthin, and vitamins and minerals

ANALYSIS
52% Protein
8.5% Fat
9% Fiber
10% Moisture

Ingredients from the website. Not sure I like potato starch as the second ingredient. We shall see what K says. Little hi in protein but add some spirulina flake and you should be ok for generall cichlids. Much too much protein for many Africans.

Two of their flake foods look very promising and I will be ordering them. For pellets, I have found nothing better than Northfin. For pellets on a budget, the YFS pellets can certainly be considered a quality pellet. I don't really like the use of potato starch as a binder. Too many carbs and fish don't need the carbs.

But fresh preservative free ingredients for a food made in the USA... instant bonus points. It really depends on how much Potato Starch is in the mix. The rest of the ingredient list is outstanding, although you may want to supplement with freeze dried krill as the pellets by themselves may not do a good job of maintaining red/orange coloration, although they have included paprika for this very purpose.
