I made a aquarium light fixture cabinet for the 65 gallon.

This aquarium light I bought, has to be attached to the wall or a cabinet.

5 dollars for wood
3 dollars for wood screws
6 dollars for nails

its 36.5 inches long by 5 inches high and 3.75 inches in width.

65 gallon
2 yellow tail aceis
1 yellow top finned Lawanda
2 male cobues, 1 cobue fry
6 female cobue peacocks
2 Synodontis lucipinnis
1 electric yellow

5.5 Gallon
red finned, blue and white marbled Delta tail betta

30 gallon
3 males, 4 females

Great job!

Resting on the outer edges of the tank is a great thing too, so it doesn't stress the center brace.

I'd be tempted to add some shiny foil or aluminum for a DIY reflector in there too.

The light is super bright. I've had to place paper down to deflect the worst of the light off the tank.

would using a reflector concentrate the light more or no?

A PVC rainwater pipe or a U Profile would also do the Job if weight is an factor

You have my curiosity. How would I place the PVC pipe into this fixture?

I think the King of DIY made an Video abut it. I was more simple and just fixed an LED tube with 2 zippys

I'll have to check that out then. It's not the weight, it's light compared to HOB. It's barely five pounds.

It's the amount of bright light it produces, apparently Aceis don't like the bright light too much. Peacocks could care less.
