Hi! I've been wanting to build a sump for my 60 gallon tank as my HOB filter is ugly and not as efficient as it could be. The design I was wanting to do is one with the drawers with media in them. I was wondering if any of you guys have experience with this. I also would like to know if there are more efficiapent designs that add water volume to the tank. Thanks!
All problems can be solved by a water change.

I think the king of DIY on YouTube has some videos for sump building. He also has a filter build using plastic organizing units (the clear ones with multiple drawers). I believe he also has videos of turning aquariums into sumps with compartments/sections.

YouTube would be a great place to start if you haven't been there already :)

A 60g tank doesnt warrant a sump filter. True, you add volume, but the fish lives in the original 60. Get yourself a high quality medium sized canister filter and have zero worries. As in no leaks, overflows, etc. Now if you got yourself a 180g and turned that 60 into a sump, thats a worthwhile project

The psych meter has gone from sane to insane.
